1928
Träfraktkontoret I Göteborg was founded on 30 March 1928 by Nils Th. Gustafson. The office was located at Skeppsbron in Gothenburg. From the start, primary operations included the export of timber products, mainly to Great Britain.

1930 / 1940
The 1930s and 1940s, saw hard times, both in the interwar period and the Second World War. Neither were the end of Träfraktkontoret or Nils Th. Gustafsson. During these times, instead of exporting timber products from Sweden, Nils travelled around selling firewood to households in Sweden.
-
1954
Nils Th. Gustafson's son, Sture Gustafson, followed in his father's footsteps and at the age of 20 went to the Canary Islands where he made contacts. This led to new business relationships and in the coming years the company would export large volumes of timber products to Las Palmas. As return cargo, we imported tomatoes, which in turn meant that for many years Träfraktkontoret was Sweden's largest tomato importer. In the 1950s, the company also began to export timber products to Southern Europe, Sudan and Egypt.
-
1960
In the 1960s, Sture Gustafson spent most of his time meeting customers on sales trips to Saudi Arabia, Yemen and the rest of the Middle East. Through these personal visits, he offered freight solutions on the spot and could thus close deals immediately allowing our markets to expand at a rapid pace. During this time, it was not only our market and knowledge that expanded, but forestry products were exported in several new dimensions and forms and demand for paper pulp increased.
-
1974
In the wake of the increased oil price, the demand for sawn timber increased in the Middle East. Träfraktkontoret saw the opportunity early on and immediately established good business relations with Jeddah becoming a major destination.
-
1982
Our office moved to Lilla Torget in Gothenburg. In the 80s, we were a driving force in the development of containerised transport of timber products. Our first container of sawn timber went to Portugal in 1987. Container export of timber products now also gave us the opportunity to start developing the Asian market.
-
1991
Our first shipment of sawn timber to Japan left Sweden. It is then not long before the first shipment departed for Taiwan and shortly afterwards also for China.
-
2009
We experienced major growth and doubled our turnover in just one year. The strong trend would continue in the coming years.
-
2014
The company outgrew its premises and the office moved once again. We chose Första Långgatan, a classic shipping street. Our market expanded further and by now we were exporting forestry products to every continent.
-
2020
Träfraktkontoret focus on offering the customer complete solutions in forestry logistics resulted in us investing in our first terminal in Gothenburg.
-
2021
We have now also outgrown the premises on Första Långgatan and start the year with a move to the Amerikaskjulet with the Port of Gothenburg as our new landlord. During the autumn, we invested in our own terminal in Vålberg just outside Karlstad, Värmlandsterminalen. Major growth will take place here in the coming years. The business has now been broadened further and in addition to sea transport, we also offer transport by rail and road.
